Macugnaga ski holidays
There are good ski schools in
Macugnaga and nursery slopes in both areas of the ski resort making this a
great location to learn to ski. There is 40kms of pisted ski runs in
Macugnaga and the easier runs are in the Pecetto ski area. Intermediate
skiers in Macugnaga can find some good challenges higher up and can enjoy
the uncrowded slopes; the longest ski run is approx 7km. There are limited
runs for advanced skiers although some good off piste skiing is available
and there is heli-skiing locally. Macugnaga is a good resort for learning to
snowboard as the runs are long and wide and there is a terrain park.
The village consists of two parts: Pecetto at the foot of the Belvedere/Burky ski area and Macugnaga centre, also known as Staffa. The two areas are within 15 minutes walking distance of each other.
